Beaufort Buildings (Clifton)

Whole home renovation

Project Outline

Complete top to bottom refurbishment of a beautiful listed building. Other than the refurbishment there were structural alterations, damp-proofing, basement works, kitchens, bathrooms, fine cabinetry and, as is often the case, a complete renewal of all the plumbing and electrics.

Having lived in our 5-storey grade II listed Georgian townhouse for the last 18 years, we knew we loved the house and its location, but we knew it needed an update and extensive refurbishment to make better use of the available space, suit our needs better and keep the building going for another 100+ years.

This was a major refurbishment on a very tight site in the heart of Clifton Village. The building was stripped back to its bare bones and completely renovated with a new terrace added from the kitchen; new heating; changes in floor levels, new windows and flooring where required; remodelling of the basement and redecoration throughout. Despite us being knowledgeable about potential issues (one of us is project manager of large construction projects), it is very different when it is your own house.

Don, Mike and their team were brilliant – friendly, skilled, knowledgeable and worked hard to achieve exactly what we had asked for. Having weekly meetings really helped with communication and making sure all the details were spot on.

It was a complex and challenging project, but the results exceed our expectations, and we were delighted that we had such an excellent team restoring our house.
